The gallery became a beacon of the European avant-garde, championing abstraction and Surrealism at a decisive historical moment.

With the help of figures such as Samuel Beckett, Marcel Duchamp, and Mary Reynolds, Guggenheim forged a groundbreaking program for Guggenheim Jeune that would help define her legacy. The gallery hosted more than twenty exhibitions, including Vasily Kandinskyโ€™s first solo show in the UK. At that time Guggenheim also made her first acquisition, a Brancusi sculpture, signaling the beginning of the collection that would become celebrated worldwide.

The exhibition travels to the Royal Academy of Arts in London, and Guggenheim New York
